The project focused on addressing critical slope stability issues and reinforcing embankments along the Central Railway lines in Mumbai. The densely populated and heavily trafficked urban environment necessitated robust and long-lasting solutions to ensure the safety of railway operations and surrounding infrastructure.
Rockfall protection systems were implemented to mitigate risks from falling debris. This involved the installation of high-tensile steel netting and dynamic rockfall barriers in critical areas.
Soil nailing techniques were utilized to stabilize unstable soil slopes. This involved drilling holes into the slope, inserting nails, and grouting them into place to create a reinforced soil mass.
